About US : The Damdami Taksal is the travelling Sikh university, which was founded by our Sahib Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji to impart knowledge of Gurmat onto Sikhs. It has had an about us unbroken lineage of Jathedars who have led the Taksal throughout Sikh history.
Damdami taksal is the golden organisation in sikh religion and The Taksal is knowing as the travelling Sikh university, which was founded by our Sahib Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji to impart knowledge of Gurmat onto Sikhs. It has had an unbroken lineage of Jathedars who have led the Taksal throughout Sikh history.
The first and foremost function of the Taksal is to educate Sikhs, to teach them the correct pronunciations of Gurbani, to do Katha and Kirtan.
This is done by getting students to undergo rigorous studies, meditations and seva, thus a wholesome Sikh lifestyle is developed and maintained. Here the students who studied in this organisation and when they are good in study like katha, keertan, etc. then they selected to teach the new students of damdami taksal. Many teachers are provided for students but the Leader of damdami taksal is only one.
Leader’s whole life is for this organisation. Her every word, every time like a single moment that all is only for Sikh Religion and what they speak, what they teach all words are precious for the students of damdami taksal and who believe in this. Damdami Taksal’s Leader is very respectful and honorable personality in Sikhism.
Qualities of damdami taksal’s Leader is a very graceful person, Sikhism believes that the leader of this organisation have spiritual power because they mostly spent their time in god. they learn Sahib Sri guru Granth Sahib ji, Sri Dasam Granth Sahib Ji , Vaaran Bhai sahib Bhai Gurdas Ji, Brief history , etc. Damdami taksal have their own history of 300 years.

The Taksal has always been a key strategic player in the activities of the Sikh Nation, with Jathedars Baba Deep Singh Ji & Baba Gurbaksh Singh Ji both being martyred defending the sanctity of Sri Harmander Sahib, Amritsar. They were both beheaded yet still fought on until the Mughals had to run in fear.
The 6th leader of Taksal, Singh Sahib Sant Giani Sant Singh Ji was the Head Granthi of Sri Harimander Sahib and a close aid of Sher-e-Punjab Maharajah Ranjit Singh Ji (King of Punjab Kingdom). The famous Sikh Historian Bhai Santokh Singh (author of Suraj Parkash) was also a student of the Singh Sahib Ji.
During the British rule, Damdami Taksal’s 11th leader Sant Giani Sundar Singh Ji Bhindranwale played a considerable role in the Gurdwara Reform Movement by participating in peaceful demonstrations and by this movement Damdami Taksal is famous as a “Bhindranwale“.
Sant Giani Gurbachan Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale 12th leader of Damdami Taksal did the complete katha of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji many times and today we find that alot of his students are Granthis at Sri Harimander Sahib and many of them held positions of esteem and were Jathedars of the Takhats.
Sant Kartar Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale 13th leader of Damdami Taksal started the movement against the anti-Sikh Nirankari Movement and at last Sant ji was sacrifice his life for regulations of Khalsa Panth and the entire Sikh of world knows of the sacrifices made by Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale in the 80’s against forces opposed to the Sikh Panth.
Baba Takhur Singh Ji Khalsa was the acting Jathedar of the Taksal has blessed many Sikhs with the knowledge of Gurmat and under his leadership the Taksal has produced many Gianis, Kirtanis and Pathis. Even today you will find that many Granthis and Jathedars of Takhats and famous historical Gurdwaras have been educated by the Taksal. On 17th June, 2003 Baba Thakur Singh ji choose Singh Sahib Giani Ram Singh Ji as a new leader of damdami taksal. Baba Thakur Singh Ji Khalsa died in December 24, 2004.
Singh Sahib Sant Giani Ram Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale is the current and 15th leader of Damdami Taksal. In 2005 the key figures in the Sikh nation flocked to Gurdwara Gurshabad Parkash,Saheedan (Sangrawan) to give the leadership of Taksal over to Baba Ram Singh Ji who has now become an influential figure in the Sikh nation.
The Taksal aims to live up to its motto which was uttered by Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji in Sri Japji Sahib,
The True Coin of the Shabad (the Word of God) is created in the True Mint of Sadh Sangat (congregation of Saints) It can only continue its success with the continued blessings of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and the Sadh Sangat.
